Toys, Toys, Toys

This pretty much covers most of the equipment we use. Have a look!

Digital Cameras

We specify digital cameras over traditional 35MM film cameras because during an investigation, an investigator may take well over 100 pictures, and simply for the fact that we require our information to be submitted as soon as possible after an investigation or exercise, which usually requires sending the pictures over email. Cameras seem to see paranormal phenomena that moves faster than our human eyes, so using a camera is an excellent method of documentation when used properly. We do not recommend cheap digital cameras. Cameras with 3 megapixels or higher are strongly advised.

Video Cameras with Infrared Capability

Since the majority of our investigations are carried out with low or little light present, Infrared video can give us a glimpse of what we cannot normally see. Excellent for documentation, video can provide us with visual and audio data.

EMF Detectors
Electromagnetic Field Detectors can locate EMFs to direct us in finding areas of interest. They can also point out electrical lines and devices if not used properly. Ghosts supposedly emit electromagnetic fields. We look for readings that are higher than usual.

Digital Thermometers

It is known by many ghost hunting groups that ghostly activity can cause changes in temperature in specific areas. Digital thermometers give us an accurate reading that can be compiled with our other investigative data.

Compass

Compasses can be affected by electromagnetic fields on occasion, especially if the EMF is strong. Carrying a compass is also valuable if one loses his or her bearings during an outdoor investigation.

Voice Recorder with Microphone

A voice recorder is really only useful if you can use a microphone with it. This does not include a built in microphone, since this tends to pick up mechanical sounds from the recorder and other interference during an EVP session. There is no preference between a tape recorder or digital, they both seem to get the same results. Please bear in mind if you choose to use a tape recorder, you will need a significant amount of blank tapes, as you must use a fresh tape every time.

Why We Don't Post a Bunch of "Orb" Photos.....

Have you ever been to one of those sites that shows a bunch of dust and calls it orbs? Or how about the ones that have orbs, orbs, and.... ORBS!!!  BORING! (ok, I think so...)

So why bore you guys unless we think its worth it? Sure, it cuts down on the number of pictures we have posted, but it leaves more room for the good stuff.

Look at the picture below. See the fuzzy balls around the top of the tombstone? Please don't call those orbs. These are most likely dust, pollen, or moisture in the air.

Now have a look at the picture below. THIS is an orb. You won't find me posting this anywhere else though... I took this picture when I was with another paranormal group. I took the picture, but its probably on their site somewhere....

This is actually one orb that is moving, not 3 or 4 of them.

Please see the site page "Q and A" to see more info about orbs.

That's it for now! Catch you at the next blog!

The perfect Ghost Hunt !

I hate to brag, but it happened, the perfect ghost hunt! I took three interested  people to our new training grounds at the Maple Ridge Cemetery. I thought they would find it interesting, but never thought it would be this cool...

After a short walk in the cemetery to introduce my guests to town pioneers buried there, and to see just how old some of the graves were, we found a nice spot under a couple of trees to stay and I began to explain what ghost hunting was all about.

One of the women said something was playing with the back of her shirt ( and this continued to happen the whole time we were there). There were no animals nearby, and no wind. (as I thought to myself how cool that was). We did a white light affirmation, and took some pictures, and tried to record an EVP session. We took some pictures on our way out, but I didn't think we really got anything until I got home and started looking at the pictures from my camera and listened to my tape.

Customary to my strange rules of ghost hunting, we walked on the edge of the grass to avoid stirring up dust on the dirt paths there. Here's the photos and EVP from that night, hope you find it interesting...

EVP will be added shortly...
